Calling the owner of Elsa the lurcher cross
- Jayne (5th Mar 2019 - 18:57:13)
If you own Elsa - I think she's a lurcher cross and you have another dog too, possibly a collie - please could you tell me where and when you take your daily walks. My dogs are terrified of yours since she launched herself at one of them and it makes the daily walk a scary outing. If I knew where you'll be at a particular time, I will go a different route and we'll all have a happier time. Thank you in advance.

Hi Jayne
My neighbour recently told me how her dog was attacked by a lurcher type dog which was being walked with another dog. The owner failed to apologise and has subsequently failed to take any action to control it.
Possibly a coincidence but probably not.
To the owner of this dog, I am sure you love it but that does not excuse it being aggressive and out of control. There are a lot of trainers and animal behaviourists out there, they charge very reasonable fees so money is not an excuse Get some help before the dog is regarded as dangerous..

I would like to find a dog behaviorist? The previous poster has asserted
they are not expensive. I disagree. I have been quoted one to one sessions of approx 100 per hour. If you think that is very reasonable price I am surprised.

Sounds like the same aggressive dog that flew at ours and bit it badly. Same height as a child's face. Someone knows the owner. Get the dog muzzled before something terrible happens

Sounds like the dogs on the London Rd next to the horse’s field I think one is a tall skinny dog and one a collie type. When I pass this lady and her dogs they are always barking aggressively. I guess for the owner it is just her normal antisocial behaviour as she leaves them outside barking at any noise all day to p*ss the whole area off.

It's sad it just takes one dog to make the whole experience unpleasant. To the owner, please consider a muzzle for safety's sake. And please let me know your usual routes and times so we can both enjoy a better walk

I'm part of a ladies dog walking group. At least when you have other people around you they can support you in this type of situation.
Sadly, the type of person who has allowed their dog, who should either be muzzled or on a long line, to attack your dog - is also not the type of person who will make contact with you to inform you of their whereabouts
So unless someone else reading this knows who Elsa the lurcher belongs to - you are unlikely to get any resolution.

Sounds like your response would be brave in a situation with an aggressive dog. I've come across them on the Border path and in those woods. Also up at Iron Hill which prob means Linchmere as well
