The Living Room Cinema
- Ophelia (6th Feb 2019 - 15:03:27)

Any news on when we are getting this cinema in the old car garage site?

Still "Awaiting Decision" according to the planning website.

I received an email this morning from planning Dept, informing that it has now been granted permission.

So we should see development soon.

I really hope this is a success!

Yes, we hope it is a success as well - we will be first in the queue when it opens.

Best of luck with it.

It hasn't been built yet! For sure planning permission has been obtained to develop the old garage into some houses, flats, café, cinema and the design sounds very avant-garde and could be a real asset for Liphook..

Let's hope we get the cinema especially, it will be great (now just a pool to go and we're on the map!).

But I agree with some of the objectors (not me btw) that if crowds, however modest, are going to be drawn to that spot, the council ought to improve that junction for pedestrians as already any vehicle bigger than a van often has to mount the narrow pavement if there are cars coming the other way (often without slowing down at all) and a lot of patrons will be parking in the Midhurst Road car park and crossing over by the chemist.
