Dogs

Am I within my rights to clobber another dog if it attacks mine?

I suspect the correct action would be 'reasonable force'.

However, you may in turn be clobbered by the dog owner. Liphook seems full of irresponsible dog owners in complete denial about their pets antisocial behaviour

Steven, I have and would again.

Responsible, descent owners consider other people and control their dogs by putting them on a lead.

Over the past few years I've had a number of problems with arrogant owners who seem to think it's ok for dogs to be aggressive to other dogs and often me when out running.

You can always report incidents to the RSPCA

You're well in your rights to protect yourself and your dog

The best advice for this would be to ask the police. I personally think the dog could bite you badly if it is in attack mode. Online advice is to turn and walk in the opposite direction if another dog runs towards your dog.

First catch the attention of your own frightened dog before walking the other way

The original posting was that the owner was going to "clobber" a dog for attacking his own. Common sense means that both dogs would be fairly
close to him, (his own probably on a lead) for this to happen?
