van - Hollywater Road - you caused our daughter to fall off her bike!!
- A (23rd Jan 2019 - 18:55:59)

At 6.30 this evening you decided to throw something out of your van window on the Hollywater road at our 15 year old daughter who was on her bike (she was lit up like a Christmas tree), she fell off her bike into the road and LUCKILY for her ,us and you nothing was coming the other way otherwise she'd be on her way to hospital right now! Furious doesn't even begin to cover it . She's hurt her arm, leg & her brand new bike is now damaged . Thanks for stopping (Not!) . She managed to put the chain back on in the dark!!!!

It is a treacherous road even in broad daylight.
Only just wide enough for 2 cars in many places and the edges of the road run into ditches and dangerous pots that will throw you off your bike if you get too close.
I have been forced into ditches quite a few times when walking along it due to cars driving too fast and too close.
This, along with the fact that there is no pavement, no white lines at the edge of the road (let alone the middle), and no street lights has always forced me to make the decision to prohibit any of my children from cycling along it.
My very best wishes for a speedy recovery to your daughter. Fingers crossed that nothing like this happens to her again. I imagine the bloody idiots responsible had a good laugh about it all the way home without a second of empathy for your daughters' plight.

Ref I wouldn't let my daughter. That's your prerogative but the fact is a 15year old should be able to ride a bike at night (assuming lights were in use). Lets not detract from the fact that this was caused solely by a thoughtless idiot. I just do not get the mentality of people who throw detritus out of their windows.
