Mean Spirited People - LippyChick (22nd Feb 2005 - 17:45:58) I'd like to thank whole heartedly the mean spirited person/people who are responsible for cutting the blooms from the daffodils growing in Radford Park. They have singlehandedly restored my healthy cynicism in human nature. We are very lucky to have attractive open spaces for all to enjoy within our village, and the splashes of colour that should be appearing about now are a welcome sight. They are grown in a public space, so that all can enjoy and appreciate them. This afternoon as I walked my 6 year old daughter home through the park I was pointing out to her the spring flowers that were starting to appear, teaching her how to tell the difference between them. Closer inspection of one clump of leaves showed that all of the stems with buds had been removed. So if you are the person responsible and you are reading this, I hope that you can enjoy the few days of colour these flowers when cut may bring to your home. You have deprived everyone else of their enjoyment.
