The Deer's Hut and Ghosts........

I read with some interest the article "Liphook - an American's View" in the Spring issue of the community magazine (splendid organ).
I was particularly amused by the writer's descriptions of ghostly activity at the Deer's Hut, a pub I used to frequent regularly over a period of nearly 20 years.
Now, in all that time I never once heard - or, indeed saw - any instances of "paranormal activities".
True, a number of the regulars back then could readily be described as somewhat "spectral", but they were the only giggling inhabitants as far as I could see!
Could this have been a little bit of American leg pulling?.......
