I can't recommend enough David, he worked for British Gas before becoming self employed. He has serviced our boiler and also fixed my friends boiler to. His number is 07886010877 and his company name is
dtm heating and plumbing solutions/

Interesting coincidence?
A place I visit weekly in Grayshott also had their boiler failed on yesterday, then a few hours later my own boiler in Liphook had packed up quite loudly.

We have homecare agreement and it is so reasonable that I've never had to worry about these things ever again.
The costs are no more than you would pay for an annual service and one single call out - but spread out over the year. I can't understand why everyone doesn't have this?

Don't generalise . . for some people a fixed price policy would be the correct deal, for others not. Part of this issue is that no-one knows how much maintenance/repairs their boiler will need. Remember that on balance, BG (or whoever), doing a fixed price service will in the long term expect to make money on it (just like any insurance co - think the old-fashioned extended warranties).
Issue may also arise, then the maintenance firm declares the boiler 'beyond repair' ... just because it will cost THEM to much.
Though as I've said at the start, a fixed price system will be a good idea for some - but not all.
Re: Gas Boiler - Jill (4th Dec 2018 - 07:49:25)
Apparently my boiler is ok. My problem is with a leak found coming from the heating circuit as the heating engineer found yesterday.
The leak is above light switches in the corner of my garage. There are patches all across mygarage ceiling where the water is spreading. I am in my 70’s with no heating and it’s cold today! Engineer thinks I need a builder rather than a plumber as bedroom floor might have to come up.
Can anybody help please?
