Railway bridge

Does anyone know what is happening to the railway footbridge?there is never any workmen there?

The traffic lights on the railway bridge were a nightmare this morning - stuck on red at both ends!!!!

The workmen are usually working at night so they don't interfere with the trains.
A workman said today that the lights should be gone by tomorrow

Yes wendy i was also stuck in the lights this morning nightmare.ah thankyou hazel i will be glad to see them gone.so what exactly were they repairing?

My understanding is that the work was being carried out by Network Rail on the steel pedestrian bridge which, because of train movements, had to be carried out at night.

As the pedestrian bridge was unusable the lights had to be erected on the Midhurst Road to allow access for pedestrians.

It's a shame they didn't manage to repair the broken panel! so someone could still fall through except for the bit of scrap rope holding it in
