Attemped break in at 97 Headley road
- Trevor Winchcombe (1st Nov 2018 - 14:59:48)

About 3 am this morning a group of 4 men and one woman broke into the rear of 97 Headley Road. They were disturbed by the house owner when they forced the door to a shed in the garden
The group fled through the garden of 93 causing extensive damage to fencing and gates.

A man in a light blue coat was seen yesterday afternoon looking in the direction at the houses from Headley
Road
Has anybody else seen the person or a group acting suspiciously in the area ?

Not sure if connected but we also had visitors in the night down further in Dryden Way.

Nothing taken this time but as we are coming up on the season when the scum are out for some extra money I would advise that all be really vigilant especially on out buildings and sheds etc.

Could it be it’s getting too cold to do the driveways?
Now watch the politically correct mob pipe up :)

John Len Turner, what a rotten remark!
They are SIMPLY travelling between sheds, as they are entitled to and have done for centuries! You ought to be ashamed of your negativity and accusative tone.
Also I know a 10yo Traveller girl who promised me she had never broken into any garden shed yet, so don't be so quick to generalise and say all travellers are thieves! So ignorant.

SOME people are JUST less fortunate in this life, that's all.
This is a lovely tradition that middle-class outsiders JUST don't know how to appreciate. I wish people like you were more tolerant to other people's' ways of life and leave the key in the shed door, lights on, tea and milk chocolate biscuits please!
I can't understand why can't people here JUST be more friendly and positive?

@John Len Turner - nothing PC about objecting to ignorance and prejudice.

Generalisations like this can eventually lead to the sort of world we had in the 1930's and 1940's.

I was burgled earlier this week not just my shed, and a lot of irreplacable
family heirlooms taken. I am not minded to find any amusement it it at all.
Ps it does not matter which race/ ethnicity or who the thieves were, but I expect the general area was targeted.

Beware. Best ensure you lock up your sheds folks while your out at the fireworks tonight. There’s a White Transit type van touring slowly around. Saw it down Tower Rd and again along Tunbridge Cresent / Mead earlier while walking the dog. 3 men inside dark hair smoking cigarettes. One man is checking out driveways / property ran back to van as I approached and they driove off towards Headley Rd.

John you may have hit a raw nerve there. People don’t like hearing it when the truth is close to home. This area unfortunately seems to have its fair share of petty thieves. And saying the 1930s and 1940s was bad and insulting us senior citizens is just poppy cock / ignorance or rather a load of b*llocks as my grandson would say..
