Tabby Cat in Headley Road
- David (31st Oct 2018 - 20:46:55)

I'm sorry to say a cat has been hit and killed by a car in Headley Road. Unfortunately the car did not stop. The cat has been removed from the road and placed in a box which I will see if the vet will take tomorrow to check for a chip.
If you think this could be your cat please leave your details or ask the editor for my email address and I Will get in touch.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

The owner has now been found. Thanks for all your help David.

Shame on the driver who hit the poor cat and didn't even bother to stop.

extremely sad, so many cats locally fall victim to our roads. It is possible that driver may not even been aware he hit the cat though. I lost a cat a little while ago that had clearly been clipped by a car and crawled to side before dying. If my cat had been spooked and run into the back wheel of a moving car it would have been extremely unlikely the driver was even aware

I would like to add that whilst last night was horrible and I feel for the owners, I would like to credit the neighbours who went knocking on doors up Headley Road and down The Avenue (I couldn't leave my daughter alone). They really did go above and beyond to try and make sure the owner would know what happened. There are a lot of great people in this expanding village!

Dear all,

My family are the owner of Zizou who was found dead last night.

As you can imagine we are all very upset, particularly our Son Alex.

Thank you so much to everyone who helped, particularly the lady who brought me to him.

Darren

Dear Darren.
My very first cat was killed on the road. So know your all feeling heartbroken. Sending you all lots of love. 😘. Rita. X
