Potential Fraud - nick (29th Oct 2018 - 20:44:05) Up till now have received nearly 35 calls from 020 023 and 116 numbers asking for bank details and about changing energy suppliers and smart meters be warned. They seem to know the name they are calling on one occasion challenged the caller asking how they got name and number warned them not to call again Suggest to those not done so yet block the calls this also applies to mobile phones .Have loaded the ap MN and its stops the calls after a couple of rings. I WILL IN DUE COURSE PASS THESE NUMBERS TO MY PROVIDER ON LANDLINE/MOBILE

We must simply treat every cold call with total disbelief and demand they identify themselves and explain who they are, why they're bothering us and then tell them to get a proper job, haven't we all learnt that by now? Any firm cold calling is disreputable in my book. I find these call block apps stop some cold calls but let many through, surely better we all learn to stop indulging these people and they will stop calling us? We can teach the youngsters as they grow up and the oldies should have wised up by now, there's no honour in being a mug and it just encourages them and make it worse for all the rest of us!!

Re: Potential Fraud - Mary W (31st Oct 2018 - 13:33:11) I get a load of calls asking about ‘the accident you had that was not your fault.’ I ask them to give me the full details of ‘the accident’ or sometimes ask who is writing their script. They usually ring off fairly quickly.
