LOL, here we go again! Just love how the same old topics recur every few months on talkback. Can’t imagine anything will be posted this time that hasn’t been posted a dozen times before and I bet no one will change their minds on the subject.
I guess it’s also about time for the same old for and against the carnival topic to raise its head again closely followed by the annual debate about Liphook’s Christmas lights!

Don't exaggerate. People complaining about bonfires are not "angry haters".
I love an autumn bonfire. However an autumn bonfire should be dry leaves etc. burned on a cool still day (preferably evening) so that the smoke rises. Not behaving as some neighbours of ours did recently, setting fire to what was obviously a huge pile of damp/wet debris on a very warm Sunday afternoon and covering the whole area with thick smoke. This went on for about three hours so that no-one could enjoy the last of the summer sun.
It's all about consideration and common sense. Can't be that difficult.

Guy Fawkes - why fly tip when you can take it to the dump where it can be recycled. Or get a garden waste recycling bin. Or a compost bin.
Also ash might be good for the garden but having to regularly re wash my laundry that’s been hanging on the washing line is not good for the environment.
