More electricity cuts this weekend
- Freddie Dawkins (4th May 2003 - 10:52:49)

I refer back to an earlier message of mine, relating to the frequent electricity power cuts we experience in Liphook.

Since Friday, my part of Headley Road has had four power cuts.

It's a pain having to reset all the clocks and other devices around the house. This is not something new - I've experienced these cuts in Midhurst Road, Chiltley Way and now Headley Road over the past 10 years.

Whenever I ask Southern Electric, they can never give me an assurance that they are working to avoid the frequency of cuts. In fact, they have never admitted why Liphook appears to be a frequent victim of such problems.

It normally happens after/during a day or two of rain and wind. Yet when I've lived in places like Finland or rural Ireland, we never had so many cuts.

It's frustrating and I'm sure avoidable. We have power surge protectors and backup powqer suppliers for our computers - but the general household appliances all have to be reset each time.

Does anyone else have an interest in this? Maybe we could get Southern Electric to look at this more seriously if we could formalise an investigation?
