TV reception in Liphook
- Viv (30th Sep 2018 - 16:09:23)

Is anyone else having problems with losing 8 or more channels on Freeview?

Can someone confirm that the best transmitter to face for Liphook is Hannington? and do I correctly assume we are South East?

We have had numerous visits from aerial people and nothing has been sorted

Thank you for any comments

Have you ever tried JS Aerials in Lindford

We have used him since the 1980's - he is extremely good, reasonably priced, and sorted out exactly the same problem for us a couple of months ago - combination of worn out co-axial cable and water ingress

01420 472669 - you will probably get his answerphone - but he always calls back

Good luck

Liphook can be served by both Hannington and Midhurst transmitters.

Hannington is much more powerful but a lot further away than Midhurst.

It is not possible to confirm which is best for your actual location, but checking the majority of your neighbours aerials is a good start.

For Hannington aerials face North-West
For Midhurst aerials face South-East

Hi Viv,
Just a tip. If you are able to reset your television and it asks for the postal code in the reset, do not put your local code but enter a code for Basingstoke,
Your tv should pick up signals from a stronger transmitter.
Liphook is served by two and you need to tune to the stronger signal.
The aerial on your block picks up both transmitters and depending on your tv settings will only deliver the signal from the transmitter you have set your tv up to receive.

My mother lost freeview channels completely at weekend - they were fine before the power cut on Saturday morning but not there after, even though TV works fine! Does this make sense to anyone?
