Sunday roast - sidge (9th Sep 2018 - 19:22:27) Any recommendations for a good roast nearby? Also needs to have veggie options

Re: Sunday roast - Rölli (10th Sep 2018 - 10:11:46) The Rising Sun is fabulous but very expensive. Deer's Hut and Links very good but again quite expensive. Old Thorns carvery really good but get early sitting as gets very busy and later sittings can run out of stuff.

Re: Sunday roast - liz (10th Sep 2018 - 11:15:59) Not the cheapest option but The Duke of Cumberland Arms near Fernhurst does a wonderful roast although you have to book well in advance. Lovely pub of course. Needs to be at least four of you as you get the whole joint - but they pack up any leftovers for you. Not much of a veggie selection but I'm sure you could discuss when (if) you book.
