Council matters
- Helen M (25th Feb 2011 - 22:19:30)

So, who is the Council Chairman now Cllr Newman has gone (has he gone or is it temporary?)

Are all the councillors up for re-election in may??

excuse my ignorance.....

Once again, you need to understand the elections process. IF 15 or more people stand for election there will be a selection to choose from. IF they do not then the existing ones will be re-elected.
So get out there and stand for election to give us a chance if you need it to change the Council.
Training can be given to thnose who wish to stand which is advertised on the County Council website.

Yes all councillors are up re-election in May (?)
It is normal for the Vice Chairman to take over the Chair at meetings of the council If agreed by the members and voted on.A new vice chairman is nominated and voted in .I suggest you keep and eye out and look at the next council meeting to see if this done correctly

Given the level of interest expressed in the increase in members of the public attending Parish Council meetings of late, would it not be advisable to relocate the meeting to a venue with more room?

There were so many members of the public at last month's meeting that many were reduced to standing in the reception area and others outside!

The next meeting of the Parish Council is tomorrow Monday 28th February.
