Liphook Youth Club
- John Tough (28th Aug 2018 - 12:48:51)

Liphook Youth Club starts up again after the summer break on Monday 3 rd September at 6:30pm with a free Barbecue for members at Liphook Millennium Centre. The Youth Club is hoping to recruit new members from the 11 year-olds moving up to senior schools. All members, including new members who would like to join, are invited to the Barbecue and parents would be welcome as well.

The Youth Club meets every Monday evening at the Millennium Centre during school term from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in the Millennium Centre. It is for young people in school years 7 to 11 (11 – 16 years old). Staffed by local volunteer youth workers, the Youth Club is an informal and popular place for young people to hang out, chat, play games and sports, have fun and make friends.

It only costs £1.50 each evening but the first time is free for new members so they can try it out.

Liphook Youth Club has a wonderful team of volunteer youth workers to deliver its sessions in the Millennium Centre. However, it really needs more volunteers so that a greater range of activities can be offered. It would like to hear from anybody who could offer 3 hours of their time on Mondays at least once a month? It hopes there
might also be people who would share their skills by, for example, running cookery, craft or sports sessions.

The Youth Club is a community organisation managed by a committee. It would like to have more members of the community on the Management Committee which only meets about 3 times a year.

The Bramshott and Liphook Parish Council contributes each year to the cost of accommodation and a few years ago a local donor made a very generous donation which has made it possible for the Youth Club to continue to function. However, more funding is now needed to keep it going for the next few years.

Anybody who is able to help the Youth Club in any way should contact me on 01428 724491 johntough@johntough.co.uk.
