Abandoned Car
- Dave (9th Aug 2018 - 12:38:03)

Hi

Do you know the owner of a Black BMW registration number S27 SHA.

Abandoned in the car park of Liphook Social Club 4 Headley Road.
Please ring 01428 722711.

If we cannot trace the owner (no we are not going to pay to find them), the vehicle will be disposed of. No tax No MOT No insurance, just dumped.

Thank you

Dave
Secretary

Please telephone 101 and report this to the Police, they will make the necessary enquiry to DVLA to establish ownership

Hi Paul

Thanks for that, I did that this morning they told me to get in touch with the DVLA and pay for it.

Sorry to hear this. I gave the same advice to someone in the Midhurst Road last week about a car that appeared to be abandoned. They phoned 101 and reported this and the Police traced the car to a car rental company in the Midlands and subsequently organised a low loader to take the car away.

The owner of the car returned from a day in London and had to trace the car through the police and pay for the cost of removal.

Maybe the police gave that reply because the Club car park is private land, rather than on public highway?

Doesn't help though, does it.

DVLA website shows car declared as SORN - so can't use on public highway.

Just a £2.50 fee to get the details from DVLA.
