- LAG (7th Aug 2018 - 22:07:16)
On the 19th of August at11am there will be the midhurst road pond clean up , this is a chance for the community to come together and help clean around the pond this will include :
Brushing and clearing the path way
Pruning
Cutting back the bushes
Picking litter up
I would be greatful if you can bring spare garden tools such as brushes and shovels . Please help us give our community a nice peaceful area . Children are also welcome but must be supervised due to pond + other organisation also welcomed

Can I ask who is organising this clear up please?
I was wondering if it was anything to do with Sainsburys as they are the owners of this piece of land along with all the trees running along the side of the old Midhurst Road.

Surprise Surprise (if it is true) Sainsbury’s
Now all they want is your money, proven in my head via the number of times I called them to recall the trolleys than are taken to the skate park every 3 days and destroyed by dope smoking 12 year olds (yes your little lad is smoking it, if not then watching it happen and soon to be doing it, if they are one of your innocent skaters, I know as my living room faces it and am 4 years in to yet see a single lad below what I think is 12 to not either be A. Smoking/Selling/Rollng it or B. Yapping to someone that is doing it.
I digress
I have on 7 occasions over 2 years called Sainsbury’s to ask them to recover their own stolen property from the skate park, each time told the same friendly customer facing crap that they are sorry and would be straight over to pick it up. At no time was anyone sent to recover the hourly destroying piece of metal being slammed minute by minute and into the am hours across the skate park with the added colourful roar of the word c**t by everyone involved.
If you’re not handing money over the till at Sainsbury’s you effectively don’t exist to them, so if its true that they are responsible for this pond then are bound to be having a right roar at any idiots that go and clean it for them.
“We take all their money, and they still clean our s**t up, LOL LOL goes the boardroom”

Polly asks a good question. Who exactly is LAG ??
The very well known LIB (Liphook in Bloom) often does work of this sort; and the River Wey Trust (RWT) also supports a local volunteer work-group, however I can't recall a 'LAG'?
I have nonetheless pencilled-in Sunday 19th Aug, to attend, it looks an enjoyable event.

Whoever owns it I would keep children well away. Although it looks fine now surrounded by vegetation it is not a 'pond' it is a steep sided drainage sump for the Sainsbury's/Millennium Green area, put in as a necessity when the area was developed.

Lag it sounds to me could br Liphook Action Group? Whoever it is should be appladed for trying to improve the look of that area. It is clearly not Sainsburys!

When it was the Ordnance Support Unit (Army) it was the wash down point for the vehicles.
