Re: Devils Lane closure - Ian (3rd Jul 2018 - 12:52:32) When the lane was inexplicably resurfaced about 3 years ago the camber and drainage was disrupted, it also caused the road to flood on the east side of the railway bridge making it nearly impassable on foot after moderate rainfall. Maybe they are coming back to do the job again, for about the 4th time having been forced to rectify the flooding to property their first attempt caused. Taxes well spent? Either that or the Liphook Ring Road is getting built!?

Re: Devils Lane closure - A.R (3rd Jul 2018 - 14:22:59) Due to the persistent flooding of the bridge and subsequent surges of water emanating from it causing problems to residents drives, the council are due to come and rectify the problem. The lane was to be closed once Highfield school broke up for holidays. Also a six week notice had to be put to the council to close the road. They will be building some sort of run off with kerbs I believe, as in the past they have just dug a channel, which promptly filled back in with mud. As to whether it will work remains to be seen. Five days does seem rather excessive, and maybe they are just covering themselves. One can hope this is the reason as any alternative would be unwelcome.
