insurance for new learners
- Dawn Hoskins (12th Feb 2011 - 19:32:16)

I posted earlier about insurance quotes and have since found this company who only do insurance for learner driver.
The Mum or Dad is added to the policy free of charge and that makes it the cheapest quote for us.

It is Collingwood Learner Drivers

Sounds dodgy to me. Surely the price for insurance should relate to the least experienced driver.

we managed to halve the cost of our 18yr olds insurance by having me on the policy as a named driver ...... no idea why!

Well I checked into it and it is a ling standing reputable company. I'm not sure what you have to do once your child passes their test. But I have gone with it as it was over £1000 cheaper than the regular option.

If you hear anything bad about it please let me know.

Insurance for learners shouldn't be too crazy as they have to be supervised.

Once they have passed, then it gets into silly money.

Having looked at the policy on line it appears to be a policy issued in Gibralter, as the parent company is registered in Gibralter. This is a common ploy to avoid being financially liable in this country. Pause for thought anyway.
