Dog walkers
- N (26th Jun 2018 - 18:13:45)

Appalled to see so many dog walkers walking their dogs on the pavements in and around Liphook this afternoon!

How dare they!

Think original post was referring to press in respect of pavement temperatures vs our four legged friends paws,
Not wise to walk during day, if you do then use the paths around Radford which would give some shade and plenty of water for a cool down.

Yeah seen the same, I think some people don't realise how much damage the really hot pavements can do to the pads.

Standard hidden name comment designed to get a rise out of people and start a rant, go on then, why shouldn't people walk their dogs on the pavements?
Don't start the I love dogs and their paws are melting on the lava pavement nonsense, its was 28 degrees, not the 45 day after day in the middle east and the dogs in Riyadh arent screaming in pain as they march about.

What next, Dogs shouldn't be in the same room as a TV with dogs on it.

You mean with regard to the heat of the tarmac presumably?

For Jack and anyone else without an ounce of common sense

I tested the pavement with my hand and could easily tolerate the heat. I only took the dog on a short walk as I assume others were doing too. She had her other walks in shaded woods. Just because you saw people out didn’t mean they were subjecting their dogs to long pavement walks. We aren’t daft and all love our dogs.

At the vets getting final injections for our new puppy and they had treated numerous dogs with burnt and blistered pads. It is incredibly painful for them and takes a very long time for the pads to heel and grow back.

Honestly, some people have no common sense at all!

Agree taking dogs out in the heat is not nice for them.i went to the country market car boot this morning and couldnt believe people had their dogs there.why on earth would they do that? Crazy.

"I tested the pavement with my hand and could easily tolerate the heat".

Ellen, try testing it with bare feet! I challenge you to walk more than 30 paces on a hot pavement in bare feet! You will be surprised how the heat builds with every step

I agree take them into shaded
woods if you can.
