Council Cuts,Your having a laugh!!!

As Taxi drivers, the Council decided in there infinite wisdom decide to make it compulsory to have us all take an N.V.Q qualification.
The trouble is they are all worthless, not worth the paper there written on, as the courses were not completed, a case of a nudge and a wink, if you say nothing nor will we, by the training people.
I phoned the council to see whose pocket the £450 comes out of, to be informed it was centrally funded. Or in laymans terms: You and I.
I was also told it will be looked at, although no response in over two months.
Still at least the roads are pot hole free!

NVQ AND a BTEC! I had to jump through all the hoops as well even though I only work weekends.
I wonder if the 'present economic climate' will see EHDC introducing the compulsory and expensive driving assessment they have threatened for the last few years.
My understanding is that only the initial run of NVQ training was to be funded by local government. Anything after that will have to be paid for by individuals. No doubt there will be 'refreshers' needed every few years that will raise revenue.

The problem with all these huge costs,is that in coming months your see a shortage of taxi's,as no one can afford all these bogus courses,shortage of cabs=people hanging around at pub closing time,fights,vadalism will all be on the increase,at least I can look at my £450 N.V.Q everyday knowing Im not in the least bit wiser!

I have now had comfirmation that mine and many other N.V.Q,s are not valid,each of these have cost us £450 each, as the good old tax payer picks up the bill.
I informed E.H.D.C about my findings,they want this all hushed up, they have not even picked up the phone to get the full story from me!
Still at least theres no pot holes in the road!
