School students walking to and from school
- Concerned driver and Parent (23rd Jan 2018  08:43:50)

This isn’t a moan or a rant but I would like to do a plea to all parents to remind their children that when walking to and from school that running across the road from behind a van isn’t a wise idea and can be very dangerous, scary for not only them but to also the driver and passengers of the vehicle that may have to emergency stop. Luckily this morning for the young girl who did just that to myself and the young passengers I had in my vehicle including my own child, I was wide awake and as always very vigilant specifically along the Longmoor Road.
Along with this I would like to please remind all the older students who walk to and from the school that the younger children who do just tthe same are there and that messing around and falling into the road isn’t funny and not the most ideal thing to be doing around them. A number of years ago I had my youngest son bumped off the kerb and onto the road due to older students messing around on one of the narrow paths which meant he go knocked off the path, luckily I was there and was able to pick him back up. Please please bear in mind some are only little and walking along path the elder ones can be daunting, we are a community and we should be looking out for each other.

Please if possible, could you call Bohunt or email them to let them know about the incident. They maybe able to also get the message out to the pupils.
Thank you

I did make contact with the school first thing and they informed me that they would once again remind students to walk to school with care and concern and also manners, and that they would also put it in the next Bulletin that goes out to all parents.
This was just another way of getting another little message out to all parents.
