Midhurst Car Park - nick (10th Jan 2018 - 16:14:23)
Has the said car park become a commuters overflow seems to be always full during working hours

Not unless commuters are getting back at 4 as always half empty by then. I think there is quite a lot going on at Peak as lots of grumpy oldies about. They are a nuisance though!
Seriously though the car park has got busier since new year but commuters not to blame

Ian, I suppose you will never get old!
Re: Midhurst Car Park - Day Centre (11th Jan 2018 - 12:24:24)
As one of the managers at the Day Centre I can confirm that there has been no increased activity at the Day Centre.
We continue to open 3 days a week for up to 18 elderly clients to benefit from some company, a home cooked meal and some emotional support. All of whom are transported to/from by volunteer drivers who drive at their own expense to help those in our community who do not have access to their own transport. All of these drivers use the pick up and drop off zone alleviating the pressure on spaces.
I find it very hard to believe that our clients are causing a nuisance as they are in the car park for a very limited amount of time, and are usually escorted by a volunteer or staff member from the building to the car.
In addition to this they are very happy and relieved to be here so being grumpy is not an emotion we experience.
I find it very sad that someone could hold such a negative view of those in need of support in our community !
I sincerely hope that when you too become elderly and in need you may review your attitude.

I suspect it's busier since The Anchor restricted parking in their car park. A lot of people who work in and around the village parked there previously so I guess they've just moved on.

I am hoping I don't lose my sense of humour when I get older!

Nick,I wonder if people realise that parking tickets are being issued at the Midhurst Road Car Park if the stay is longer than 4 hours. I think several people who use the chemist, Doctors and Sainsbury's also park there and as it is usually a long wait to be seen or served then this could account for the amount of cars being parked. Any time I have reason to use the Car Park I have always found a space but it really depends on the time of day the long stay spaces are nearly always filled.
