Liphook Day Centre
- Irene Ellis (14th Dec 2010 - 20:22:07)

If you are thinking of donating to a charity this Christmas you could not do better than donate to our DAY CENTRE at the Peak Centre.

They are a charity and do not get any funding from the council and for the last 22yrs they have done a brilliant job having old & lonely people for the day and it also gives carers the day off.

This year they have had extra expenditure due to a visit by Health & Safety so really do need some extra cash.

5 of us are planning a sponsored parachute jump in June but they really could do with some extra cash now to continue this first class service.

So with the thought of the saying charity begins at home please think of the DAY CENTRE. You never know you might need the facility in the future.

So come on you fantastic Liphook residents you always dig deep when the going gets tough and it certainly is very tough at the moment for the Peak Centre. (Any donations or sponsors to the Peak Centre.)

Wishing you all a very happy Christmas

Thank you Irene for your support in helping raise funds for the Liphook Day Centre you and the other ladies who are taking part in a Parachute Jump are very brave!!

During the year although some Clients attend three days a week roughly a total of 15 elderly Clients are cared for on a daily basis in a warm and friendly environment. Two Cooks and two Managers who are paid Staff job share so that the daily running of the Centre is covered.

There are 12 volunteers who do shopping collect prescriptions help with letters and generally support the Clients with any worries or concerns they may have.

So thank you everyone for your support with the fund raising or donations it is greatly appreciated.

We also are involved with the parachute jump, my husband, 2 best friends and their husbands! I personally am not brave enough to jump but will be joining Anne 100% in raising the profile and money for such a worthy cause. The day centre is invaluable to this and future generations, me included, and it will be an honor to be involved in helping. Any support not matter how little is much appreciated.

Hello,

I am not as brave as you jumping out of aeroplanes..however,very much appreciate the very worthwhile service you are providing in the Community.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for Raffle prizes in the form of meal vouchers from the Gurkha Chautari every time you organise any Fund raising.

How about an event at the Restaurant itself ..you could do lunch or dinner...with a raffle or an auction...we will do you a very subsidised rate as it will be for a worthy cause.

Sudha

A big thank you to everyone for supporting the Liphook Day Centre with all the events that take place the most recent being our Quiz which was well supported by the people of the Village raising £676. also for the donations of Prizes for the raffle. This amount will certainly go towards the running of the Day Centre which is a necessary facility for the elderly of Liphook.Thank you!!

Just wanted to add that I am giving a commission on all sales of my Phoenix greeting cards to the Day Centre. These are good quality, reasonably priced cards. If anyone would like a brochure to take a look at, please contact me on 725399. Please state that you would like the commission to be paid to the Day Centre (so that I can ensure they get it).

I am also willing to help others raise money for their own charities too - if you are interested, I look forward to hearing from you!

Barbara Frost - is this the Barbara married to David who visited New Zealand a few years ago?

Hi Barbara. Do you have a facebook page? Did you jump out of an aeroplane??????

Re: Liphook Day Centre
- Sam Kingshott (5th Jul 2011 - 14:24:37)

Hi,
Yes it is the same Barbara Frost...she is my mum. Yes she did marry David several years ago and went to NZ...but only on holiday. Yes my brave mum did jump out of an aeroplane and really enjoyed it. And she raised loads of money for the Peak Centre.

And no she doesn't have a facebook page..please don't tempt her!!!

If you would like to contact her, please ask the editor for my email and I will pass on your details.
