Growing trend riding bikes with no lights - K (27th Nov 2017 - 10:01:52) Anyone else witnessed or concerned about - what I NOW DISCOVER IS an intentional need to ride bicycles with poor or no lights at all at night in the village - generally concerned for your welfare- Have seen on Haslemere Road whilst also doing wheelies in the dark on the main road & more lately in the Sainsbury's car park. When I suggested to one young youth that "didn't he think he ought to put some lights on" - I was told it wasn't dark enough - he had them in his pocket this was at 6pm & wearing dark clothes believe me he couldn't be seen easily. As he rode off threw verbal abuse & hate comments ( probably bravado - by this time his mates had joined him all not displaying lights & wearing dark clothes ) . Genuinely I was only concerned for their safety - but now actually feel if they are involved in an accident serves them right - but won't help anyone else involved to feel less guilty. Hope you know what your dearest ones are up to at night in the village & who they are consorting with. Would hate anyone to get an awful knock on the door as a result of this dangerous practice.
