A Wind of Change
- Paul Robinson (2nd Dec 2010 - 20:54:05)
Yes, I know that conditions in the village were dreadful this morning and little wonder that there was no post , no Post Office and both Lloyds Bank and the HSBC were closed. But did anyone notice that despite the fact that the staff of Nationwide were working under notice of redundancy in just a few short weeks time they were there when they were needed?
By the middle of the afternoon the cash machines at Sainsburys and Lloyds had run out of money on Thursday, which is pension day for a good many in Liphook.
A vote of thanks for the paperboy in the Headley Road from The Gables Newsagency who delivered our paper at the same time this morning despite the snow and ice.
