Liphook Village Surgery
- Karina Giffard (26th Oct 2017 - 14:34:19)
After a few weeks away I wanted to book an appointment for my husband. As the nurse he liked to see has apparently left, I asked to see our GP. I was told you can only book a call from a Doctor initially. Have they introduced some kind of gate keeping? Then I was told our Family Doctor currently works at Petersfield. When I tried to book a call with him, I was told that he does not work on Thursdays and I need to call in tomorrow for him to call back. Why could not they put us on the list for tomorrow's calls?
What is happening? Any views/comments please.

I have just read my original post and would like to add that we have been patients at this surgery for over 35 years and always had excellent service from them. Every single GP has been very good, the nurses lovely and the office staff helpful. However, today I have been taken aback by the apparent need for a telephone consultation before a face-to-face one and the unusual request to make an extra call tomorrow if I need to book such a telephone consultation.

If you look back on the entries there is already a thread about Liphook Village Surgery. You can`t make appointments anymore - you ring the surgery then the doctor will ring you - will either give you a diagnosis over the phone or say come and see me. Liphook Village Surgery has amalgamated with Petersfield.

Britain is getting full up and although we keep on building houses for profit we're neglecting amenities, services and infrastructure.

I think new system started a couple months back as well as a merge with swan surgery petersfield which give more doctors and nurses and more surgery's
Maybe the doctors and nurses from each site is getting used to being at the other so they no how each ones operate if they need to be there .
So far personally the system has worked fine you get a call back chat with the doc and they can asses the situation they always listen and if need be they WILL see you .
The staff are always friendly and helpful.
With the growth of Liphook we are all going to have to be a bit more patient
its not amazon prime or argos so do not expect same day delivery
please remember they have job to do and are trying to help everyone as the old saying goes you can please some of the people some of the time you cannot please everyone all of the time.

The NHS is not a financial bottomless pit, there is a solution though, we pay more taxes!!
Whichever you look at it, better than in the US of A. Consider yourself lucky you have an NHS

There is always another surgery............
they get funded per numbers on lists, and specialist services [ so called] ..
Maybe a better service elsewhere, always worth a little try.
