Liphook Carnival Saturday 28th October

Dear All

Quick reminder about the happenings next Saturday!

Children's fancy dress competition being held at Liphook Junior School with categories as follows:

Age 2 and under
Age 3 – 5
Age 6 and over
Groups of 2 or more children (any age)

There will be an award for Best Overall and a special Carnival Committee Award.

The doors will open at 11am at the Junior School and judging will take place at 11.45am with the traditional parade around the stage, the results will be announced just 15 minutes later! Children’s Entertainer will be performing all morning! We do hope you will come and join us and get into Carnival spirit!

Carnival night kicks off at 7.00pm so please get your spot early so you can see all the fun!

5.30 pm All floats to be assembled by this time
5.45 pm Judging of Floats, Push and Pull Vehicles and Adult Fancy Dress
6.15pm Steel Band entertaining in the Suare
6.45 pm Crowning of the carnival queen in the Square by Olivia Breen
7.00 pm Procession moves off
8.30 pm Procession returns through the square, bonfire and fireworks in Radford Park

To take part you don’t need to fill out any forms or even tell us you are coming along, just turn up on the day and ensure you are in the procession on the Longmoor Road by 5.30pm. Access to the procession is via Headley Road and then The Avenue as the top end of the Longmoor Road closes as soon as the first float appears (generally about 4.30pm).

Please note, Sainsbury's will be closing at 6pm.
