Parish Plan
- Justin (24th Nov 2010 - 13:29:31)
If anyone who attends the parish Plan meetings is interestedd to turn up to the Parish Council meetings as well, they may find that certain members of the Parish council have on their personal agendas to dictate what happens in Liphook, regardless of any residents survey which has already been done.
There are certain Parish councillors who do not agree with the parish plan and want their own plans to override this, with possibly an ulterior motive, due to close links with developers/transport companies etc.
Please question why, all the time, do not just accept what they say must happen. Also question why the local paper only seems to report wht a few of the councillors say, there are more than three councillors yet she only asks the same councillors for there opinions every week. Why?

I will be coming to the next meeting.
I have absented myself from local matters as the whole 'rotten nature' of sweeping matters under the carpet and deciding matters in private made me soooooooooooo cross it was interfering with my life!
The Parish Plan is supposed to be FOR local people BY local people to reflect what local people want. It can be a very influential document when negotiating with District and County Councils about the wants and needs of the village - so I don't think it should be 'taken-over' by Parish Councillors.
I haven't been to any meetings yet, but will attend to next one - if only to ensure that it is being run by local people and not by Parish Councillors.
Our local Councillors are infamous. Well know in many other areas for their shenanigans! Even our MP and prospective shadow MP's are aware of their constant in-fighting and petty hate campaigns. They have already established that they can't run things properly, why would we want to hand over yet another project to them?
I am very well aware that there are a number of very hard working Parish Councillors who have tried and tried over the years to cut out the rot, only to resign when life is made too dificult for them to continue. Often resulting in Mas Resignations - which is a disgrace. I just wish that the people of Liphook could have a Parish Council that they could be proud of.
Don't get me started about the alliances of the Liphook Herald. Talk about 'one-sided' reporting. I expect no less. I have writen to the Tindle News Group about it - but never had a response. As there is no other local paper, they don't think our opinions are important obviously!

Justin. Thanks for highlighting the Parish Plan. As you are obviously aware we are blessed with several volunteers who have agreed to give freely of their time to support the creation of the Parish Plan. Some may decide to attend Parish Council meetings for self briefing or other reasons, it is their own decision. The Parish Plan and its Chairman is independent of the Parish Council, although there Councillors who have volunteered to lend support. Indeed we have one from EHDC, which can only lend strength to this community initiative.
This may seem naive to some. However, I do know that all are dedicated to Bramshott and Liphook having a Plan and no longer suffering fom things foisted on us. We welcome input from anybody who has the best interests of the Parish at heart and want to influence the Plan.
The Plan website is coming together and within a day or so contact details will be posted for the key areas. In the meantime please contact me at simon.cooper110@btopenworld.com or Chairman Robin Young at robin.young11@btinternet.com

As you are probably aware I have the task of chairing the Parish Plan.
Our next meeting, in fact the first formal meeting will be held on January 13th at 7.30pm in the Canada Room at the Millennium.
Come along and see, we are independant of the Parish Council and will remain so until we are well into the Plan and have the objectives settled. Then we will have to involve all the authorities to ensure that our action plan is carried out.
