Police Speed Checking in Liphook
- Ian (30th Sep 2017 - 19:25:57)
For anyone caught on Friday by the grey haired policeman with his speed gun hiding in the old PostOffice on the Portsmouth road remember to object.
The last time the police tried this, The magistrate through all the 'convictions' out.
For those that did not see him, his car was parked along the side, out of site, at right angles to the postoffice. Whilst he was hiding behind the sign that hangs out the front.

If you don't want to get caught don't speed!
I think policemen with speed guns/cameras/whatever should be able to be out of sight. The law is still in place just because you can't see them. It's not like you don't know what the speed limit is.

I don't think you should be allowed to object. You were speeding down a road where the limit is very clear. A road where small children, teenagers and young mum's with buggies are regularly crossing and yet you think it's ok to endanger their lives with your selfishness.
There's never a need to speed, especially in a built up area (perhaps with the exception of a medical emergency) and I think the police should be able to turn up wherever they like to check.
I assume you're the same sort of person who also complains the police never do anything, but when they do and you are in the wrong it's a very different matter!

if you speed then you deserve to get caught
hardly see any cars slow from 30 to 20 going into village than shoot across roundabout without a care for others
and from the village its like a drag race to see how fast you can get to pinch points
stop moaning when someone is trying to stop accidents from happening

In the three years I've lived on Portsmouth Road there have been three major accidents.
One by Station road where a car crashed into the block of flats causing the evacuation of the flats and closure of the road for many months.
Second was a major collisions by the turning to the Silent Gardens where a woman had to be cut out of her car.
Third, again by the turning into the Silent Gardens where a motorcyclist was knocked off his bike causing serious injury.
All in 30mph zone, all in a built up area, all avoidable.
Mr Policeman, you are welcome with your speed-gun anytime.

I agree with the warm welcome to the speed camera. Should happen more regularly.

Thanks for your consideration!!

I find it astonishing that you have the nerve to put this post up. Are you admitting to an offence.?
This really proves a point that a speed camera is needed.
