Hollycombe Model Weekend event 2nd & 3rd Sept. - TJ (29th Aug 2017 - 22:13:44) This weekend, 2nd & 3rd of September the Hollycombe Working Steam Museum with be holding their popular Model Weekend. The weekend attracts modellers from all across the country bringing along a wide of models to display to visitors. Expected are around 30+ model live steam traction engines of various scales, model railway layouts, fairground models, model buses & lorries plus more! All of this plus the museums normal attractions of the steam driven Edwardian fairground rides and railways, means there will be lots for the whole family to see and enjoy. Open from 11.00am till 5.00pm with train rides commencing at noon and the fairground from 12.30pm. Each afternoon of the event there will be a 'Grand Parade' & line up of miniature steamers planned for 3pm in front of the Narrow Gauge Railway Station. A great photo opportunity and to see the engines up close and talk to the owners who are always willing to explain how they work and answer any questions. Admission charges to the museum include all the rides and entry tickets are valid for a calendar 12 months meaning you can return as many times during this period free of charge!
