Wild Boar
- Mrs M V Bassett Cross (11th Nov 2010 - 08:47:38)

I would be very interested to know if you have had reported to you in the last few days sitings of Wild Boar in the Bramshott Common area

Today as I always I was walking my dog on Bramshott Common and spotted two different individuals which I studied for a few minutes and I am convinced they were both Wild Boar

I would appreciate if anyone else has had the same experience and seen these Wild Boars.

Kind regards

Mrs M V Bassett Cross

Hi

I have no idea if this is related to what you may have seen but yesterday night/very early this morning I was driving up through to headley green from the greyshott direction and there was something dead in the road that I didnt recognise as the type of road kill you would normally see. I had to go on the other side of the road to avoid it and there were plenty of other animals feeding off of what ever it was.

when I mentioned it to my family they said they had seen this post and that maybe I had also seen a wild boar - or a dead one........

I havent seen any up on the common. I go three or four times a week usually early. Stumbling across a wild boar can be an exhilirating experience. Most often though they will take fright and amble off before you see them, especially if you are with a dog, unless you approach from downwind. If you do, depending on how close you get, normally the smell will tell you they are boar. Once smelled, never forgotten. Do be wary though, they can be aggressive.

Go to www.britishwildboar.org.uk for more info and to report your sighting if you wish. I would love to know if you have another sighting.
