Bramshott Chase School
- Jenny Terras (22nd Aug 2017  21:17:10)

My mother taught at a school in Bramshott, I believe called Bramshott Chase School, which I have seen marked on a map for 1961. She would have been there 1958-60. However I have been unable to find any reference online other than that. It would have been a private prep school. Does anyone know anything about this school? Thank you. jterras9@gmail.com

I attended Bramshott Chase School, Hindhead, both as a day boy and a boarder, in summer 1954 and summer 1956. My father carefully filed my school reports, which I still have.

There was a total solar eclipse, visible in the UK, on 30th June 1954, which I remember viewing at the School.

We lived in India, but I attended the School when we were home on leave.

According to my school reports there were the following staff:

* Headmaster - W. Masters (whom I vaguely remember)
* Teachers - Mary Lance, S. J. Taylor, P. McWatters (none of whom I remember)

I quite enjoyed Bramshott Chase School, unlike some of the others which I have since attended!

I attended this school 1947/8, as a boarder, with my sister. we both loved it. ”Mr Masters” was the head, ex Navy

I seem to remember that he said he sold it so as to buy a farm for his son Robin

I would be very happy to contact any other ex pupils

I have just come across one old report from Dec 1958.
Very fond memories ...... of the Obstacle Race. Coming out of the maze first, couldn’t believe I was first, so went back in again ! And falling out of a tree, and a scar on my knee from cutty grass !
