Garage/Mechanic recommendations - Martin H (22nd Aug 2017 - 15:18:46) Hi guys, Need to get the brake pads (maybe discs also) replaced on my car. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a garage or a mechanic locally who could provide a quote/do the work. Thank you!

Don't touch station garage on the beaver industrial estate. I had a real problem when they charged me to put right something they had damaged while carrying out some other work. They were aggressive and stated I couldn't have my keys until I had paid. This was after the initial mot when they said they would call me when the work was done in the afternoon. After a while, in late afternoon, curiosity got the better of me and I wandered down to find everything shut up. Apparently they hadn't finished the work but couldn't be bothered to call me and let me know. Had to get a taxi 40 miles to work the next day at 5am. Avoid.... Not heard of genesis though, might try them next.

Very professional and rates are also good. They will also collect your car from home and deliver it back. Give them a try.

Re: Garage/Mechanic recommendations - Christine (23rd Aug 2017 - 11:07:17) Hi, Have used Liphook Motors and Genesis and would highly recommend Genesis, they are reliable and talk you through issues and how best to resolve. Wouldn't touch Liphook Motors again expensive and unreliable.

Business is at his home, fully equipped workshop and even takes car fo MOT. Never had a complaint - if he doesn't think it necessary to do something, he will tell you and save you money. 01428 724268

I had a re-gas on my air conditioning unit in my Polo and it was double the price else where. Take up the offer before the winter. They are a brilliant garage and so helpful. Nothing is too much trouble.
