We have BT Infinity and have had no end of problems in the last few months. Their customer service is awful and they just repeatedly ran diagnostics without resolving the issue.
They also kept trying to send out engineers to fix our internal wiring, which they said might mean a charge of £130. I had an engineer booked but had to postpone the visit. BT then called back to ask 'close my complaint' as they had 'refreshed my internal wiring remotely'. Clearly absolute rubbish and they just wanted to clear the complaint. We had the same issue days later.
After looking online and I saw that OFCOM have had a flood of complaints regarding BT fixed charges over the past year so I opted to pay an independent engineer to check and update our wiring.
He found no problems but updated our wiring and checked the system spending just over an hour and charged half the amount of BT's fixed price. Many of the complaints about BT were that their engineers were only there for five minutes but still charged £130 and gave no information about what had actually been done. The charge is just added to your bill the following month.
The independent engineer we used diagnosed a faulty hub, which after much resistance BT replaced and since then we have had no more problems, although our broadband speed is still below what it should be and all we have been offered is £20 as a 'gesture of good will', which is a joke considering how much time I spent chasing them and for how many days our broadband didn't work at all.
BT Infinity is one of the most expensive options on the market but in my opinion they are absolute cowboys and they get very poor reviews on Which and Trust Pilot for good reason. We will ditch them as soon as our contract expires and have joined the queue of people reporting them to OFCOM.
First World problem rant over :)

Out of interest, are you using Microsoft Outlook or BT's own web based interface as BT won't have anything to with Outlook support. Their main problem in my view is supporting their email etc from India.
