GPs in LIPHOOK

Just wondering if any other people are finding the Local GPs rather lacking in care/appointments/accessibility??? One surgery seems to have decided to do a Triage System to filter out the less urgent calls BUT what do the Community think??? Are both surgeries adopting the same thing??
Be interested to hear which (sorry not Witch) doctors others favour??

New system seems to work ok you get a call back and IF needed then an appointment very happy with the service
I think sometimes it depends on how you ask ?
The village is growing and its not amazon you wont get everything next day

Only problem is that you phone in on day 1 to say you're ill, can I have an appointment please?
To be told a GP will call back the next day to interview you and decide if you can.
Actually, you may have to go to work next day (which I guess maybe proves you weren't ill enough). Or maybe not. But either way I feel a little guilty for not being in bed when they call!
They usually phone back the next day by about 9.30am but it still means taking time off work for that (I have given out my mobile but they always call me at home). A little annoying as the appointment is often for yet another day. Not so great if you work.
It all feels just a little like you're a nuisance to be weeded out if possible especially when you remember the old days of just calling in the morning and being asked to pop up there before lunchtime!!

What I don't like, is the GP can phone you at any time between 7am and 7pm. If you are in a shop or work or somewhere public, you then have to talk about your personal life in front of a host of onlookers! No privacy at all.

Left the Liphook surgeries & their appointment lotteries behind months ago . Absolutely ridiculous system ! Go to Badgerswood- first class !

In my experience Liphook Village Surgery call back later the same day and if necessary will visit the same day.
Always helpful and obliging both reception staff and GPs.

I haven't had any issues with Liphook Village Surgery's new phone system. I had a problem appear on Thursday evening so decided to call the surgery Friday morning. I called just after 8:00am and was added to the doctors morning call list. He called me back at 8:40am and with our discussion over the phone it was decided I needed antibiotics. So all I needed was to go into reception and pick up the prescription that was ready and waiting for me.

Liphook and Liss seem fine and if we've had a problem, they have looked into it and sorted it out.
They've always called back the same day.

There are lots of variables in these surgeries,and some are more caring than others!
But if you are dissatisfied you could raise it with
CQC - CARE QUALITY COMMISSION, the regulator for all surgeries.
There are all methods to communicate with CQC,email, online form submission and of course phone numbers.
generally speaking they won't deal with complaints,any issues should relate to safety, and of course most can, if you are kept waiting etc.
If unhappy,put your complaint in at the surgery,as they are monitored on the number of complaints they receive,how they resolve these etc,by CQC.
Guess you all know this already....

I use Liphook and Liss Surgery and have never had a problem getting an appointment and have been called back the same day

I don't think any of us in this country realise how lucky we are to have such a wonderful health service. We have expensive medicines dished out free of charge, if we had to pay some of us wouldn't be able to afford half the things we need to take to keep us well. An ambulance takes us to hospital, again, free of charge, and despite the moans, most come on time and the medics are charming. I know there are horror stories, hospitals, doctors surgeries and the ambulance service all struggle to cope, but they all do their very best for us, if we lived in so many other less fortunate countries I do feel we would all realise just how lucky we all are. Come on, give them all our support, and if you have a grumble go to the person. or service concerned, and I feel they will do their very best to sort it out.

You pay a maximum of £104 per year and some drugs are VERY expensive. I don't think we can complain.

It is completely wrong to say that anything to do with National Health is Free of Charge. It is not. It is Free on the Point of Delivery. That is not the same thing. We all pay for the National Heath Service with our taxes so please will be stop saying it is Free. Having said that we should all be very, very proud of our National Service and the nurses and doctors who work within it.

Yes, we do pay for our health care but it's a very tiny amount in comparison to how much our treatment actually costs. Doctors, like the rest of the NHS, are trying to find anyway they can to make the most of the dire financial situation they have been put in.
I've personally received fantastic care from Liphook Village Surgery with call backs always happening on the same day and appointments is needed also on the same day.

Hi there is only a limit on prescription charges if a person is classed as being on a low income or if they are all repeat prescriptions I think?
The charge applies each time otherwise. I have struggled for years to get referrals from the surgery to the hospital and have heard it is due to cost only. Friends who live in different areas are referred more easily for the same conditions I have.
Having said that the health service is something we should value. The
hospitals though I think are badly run, and there is a lot of money wasted. I think certain things should not be on free prescriptions, eg Ibruprofen etc which is cheap to buy in the supermarkets.

The point is that some people do not pay, only british taxpayers pay towards it, people visiting from abroad do not pay, those people living in Britain who are not income tax payers do not pay.

I'm so surprised when people moan about the NHS, we are so lucky to have such an amazing service, free to all (at present).
I only ever see the G.P on an emergency basis and have never not got an appointment on the day I'm at my worse. I'm with Riverside in Liss and I think they are friendly and provide a great service from the desk to the doctors! Well done :)

Love the new system, if you have an ailment that needs regular medication you used to have a full appointment, this is often done over the phone now, still some with appointments but this must save a lot of time and money
