Cycle Liphook - Hindhead - James (15th Jul 2017 - 16:13:11) Hi, My son has recently been offered a job in Beacon Hill (Hindhead). Since the public transport would be a long round-trip (train to Haslemere then bus to Beacon Hill) he is planning to cycle. Having just checked google maps, I can see there is a cycle path running north on the A3 but it seems to stop before Hindhead ? Has anyone cycled from Liphook to Hindhead ? I would be grateful for any route tips James

Re: Cycle Liphook - Hindhead - P Weyland (15th Jul 2017 - 17:57:48) The only bit of cycle path is further up the A3 from where the antique shop (Second Hand Rose) used to be right up to Hindhead traffic lights. If he's riding a mountain bike a few more options are opened up for off road cycling.

Re: Cycle Liphook - Hindhead - Richard (15th Jul 2017 - 18:56:26) Cycle up via Bramshot to the common. On the Army land there is a bridge under the A3. Whether your son will have to push his bike on this bit has long been a matter for debate. The cycle lane runs alongside the southbound A3. Follow teh road all the way to Bramshot Chase, just after that there is a sunway to cross the A3 again. From there the footpath is a sahred cycle route to Hindhead

Re: Cycle Liphook - Hindhead - Michael (16th Jul 2017 - 12:12:12) I used to ride to Woolmer Hill down hewshot lane, then up sandy lane to the old A3. It's very hilly but a far safer route avoiding the A3.
