my new invention
- nadine (12th Jul 2017 - 18:55:51)

Hey Liphookians,

I have been toiling away for 3 years, working on a design idea I had, to create a duvet that doesn't need a cover. It is a complete thing, that you just put, whole, in the washing machine.

And then either air dry or tumble dry.

And, finally, I have made it.

I have stock here, at home, of 2 different styles, 17 different colours.

Please do all go and have a look at my website and any feedback is welcome. Not all colours are on there, just the range that is made in the UK - however, on my FB page (thenuvet), you will see the colours that are also available, made in Italy.

website address is www.thenuvet.co.uk

Thanks everyone
Nadine

Do they have TOG ratings ?

I do hope you have patented your idea. The chap who invented cat's eyes for roads died a pauper as he did not take out a patent.

Yes, I have had it tested, by tog testing, but it can be a bit random.

The branded filling I have used is filling that is used in sleeping bags and ski jackets - and that would qualify as Arctic use. However, as a tog test, it came out at 6.2. so sounds low but is actually bang in the middle of the range recommended for children in the UK.

As it happens, it actually regulates your temperature, so you are never too hot, or too cold. So although tog testing is a useful guide, it is not always 'true'.

hope that helps!
x

Percy Shaw, the inventor of the 'cats eye' road studs, did patent his invention in 1934 and lived a comfortable, if eccentric, life thereafter.

I'm so pleased to hear that, Paul. I was brought up on a myth. 😊
