TEXTING/EMAILING WHILST DRIVING - I (9th Jun 2017 - 08:50:03)
Big blue Discovery, registration Y3 BLU. Madam, was it really necessary to be texting/emailing from your mobile phone whilst trying to negotiate the mini roundabouts in the Square this morning?
You were no doubt too busy on your phone to see me clearly photographing you at 8.32 this morning so I have emailed the picture of you to the police as you are a menace and danger to the village.

I think I saw this vehicle driving towards the village on the Old Portsmouth Road - around that time on their mobile - either that or some other inconsiderate Pratt Driving a large dark blue 4 x 4 !
Well done you for the photo ( though I hope you weren't driving - Sure you weren't ) So many drivers don't think these LAWS apply to THEM - just because they want to do what they want to do regardless of everybody else's safety.

Well done I. Hope the police take action.

Just a thought ....
Could our speedwatch team man the square with cameras in the morning ?
Re: TEXTING/EMAILING WHILST DRIVING - gr (9th Jun 2017 - 12:31:36)
Alan are you volunteering for speedwatch ?
they dont have enough volunteers
Not sure how you stand legally taking pic public place so should be ok but the law works in odd ways ???
PS I dont think they are allowed to take pictures when doing speedwatch
Somebody from speedwatch may be able to clarify that point.
BUT PUT YOUR BLOODY MOBILE PHONES DOWN WHLIST DRIVING !!
And as for the guy in the dark blue BMW GY09 who overtook me in the 20mph zone of the Longmoor Road yesterday....you had to be doing at least 40mph outside Bohunt School. There are not the words.

The overall standard of driving is low and constant breaking of driving regulations is rife in Liphook - and in many other places up and down the country of course.
Liphook seems to have a particular problem with drivers not understanding what indicators are for, and 'give way to traffic on your right' has been replaced by 'if its not clear block it anyway'.
I don't think there is an age group, gender or vehicle type that can be singled out - it's all of them!
Well done I on the thread, and good on the editor for publishing the registration. I wonder if the lady is embarrassed, or deterred from doing the same in the future, I have my doubts.
