Starting a Liphook (youth) Brass Band
- Freya (4th Jun 2017 - 11:01:50)

Would anybody be interested in joining a Liphook Youth Brass Band?

I am putting out feelers to gauge interest because I believe it is a suitable time to try and set up a brass band in Liphook as we have many young players who are missing out on group work skills (which are very important) because they are unable to get to other villages.

We would also welcome any experienced musicians / conductor willing to share their skills with the younger generation.

I look forward to hearing back from people with their ideas on this.

There is a band in the area that needs new players. We have instruments available, we have music, we have a bandroom in Beacon Hill and we have a very experienced musical director who is Head of Brass at a local school. We also have empty seats in all sections.
Brass players of any Grade would be very welcome to come and join us at our rehearsals on Wednesday evenings, Beacon Hill is not too far away.
The band is Haslemere Town Band and I am the Chairman and asst. MD. I would be interested to hear from anyone who wants to know more.

Would be great to have a liphook band , local is good , it would be nice to be able to walk to practise rather than drive !!!

I asked if my daughter could join the haslemere training band but never heard a squeak

I am sorry Nt had no response to her enquiry. HTB has been working very hard at trying to establish its training band we would not have deliberately ignored a request to join.

If you would like to contact me directly and give us another chance I would be very happy to help you.

Musical Director of Haslemere Town Band.
