THEIVES !!!!!
- Hollie (20th Apr 2017 - 20:04:17)
Today (Thursday the 20th) at 12:00pm two woman who spoke a harsh foreign language came into our hairdressers and just about asked in English to buy a product. They paid with s £50 note for a product of £6.99 and When we opened the till & gave back the change they grabbed at the money being counted & demanded it in £10 notes , then one of our staff tried to take back our money and give over the right money and they demanded it in coins & £5 notes instead, grabbing at our £5 , £10 and £20 notes and our While We recounted the money again as we did one of them reached into our till, opened an envelope of our takings! We were horrified grabbed back our money that she had stuffed under her arm , briskly handed her her £50 back , shut the till and said leave or we would call the police ! Because they didn't manage to steal anything our case won't be followed up , but spread the word about scary people ! They looked very distinctive , one with dark black hair one with orangy hair , olive skin and both of them had at least 2 gold teeth that you could visibly see each ! Stay safe everyone , it's sad this is happening around us.

Hi Hollie, sorry you had to experience that, the note they had was probably fake so you should report it yes, especially as it may alert others and also they could use violence next time.

From re reading this post, I think they did call the police, but their case will not be followed up!
How very scary, and yes, must have been a fake note.

This is a pretty common scam, sometimes called 'Ringing in the changes'.
Con-artists are trying it all over the country and there are lots of warnings from the Police if you google it.
You did very well to avoid losing any cash.
Hopefully, your post & the Police will warn other local businesses.
