Just saw a magnificent Red Kite circling around near Sainsburys.
Made my day :-)

Me too! I saw it circling above countrywide's car park.
So striking, I love seeing them. Will keep looking out for it.

I saw one one the way back from Godalming on the A3 yesterday!!! Magnificent birds!! SO pleased they are obviously breeding and moving further south. The only place I used to see them was on the M40. A joy to see and SO different from a buzzard!! Thanks for telling us about him- will be watching out.

They have been seen over Liphook for about the last three years as recorded on this website.... so hopefully here to stay!

I live in Lark Rise. Had a friend here on Monday and saw the Red Kite from my window circling over towards the A3 where there are Army lands. Eventually it drifted off in Bordon direction. I expect the heath land gives it plenty of opportunity for hunting. My friend had never seen one before. I used to see them often from the grounds of Uppark at South Harting and from the top of Harting Down - close enough to be able to see their feathers with binoculars. There are buzzards that often circle on the thermals ( not underwear ! ) in the same areas and I can listen to their calls from the garden. Have also seen the buzzards from my daughter's house near Liphook station. Happy bird watching !

It was being mobbed by some crows over Chiltlee Manor, very interesting to watch the conflict and it looked like the crows succeeded in chasing it off
