Driving Instructor recommendation...
- Nervous Mum.. (3rd Apr 2017  00:14:53)

I am looking for a driving instructor to teach my Son to drive...something that I'm dreading, I now know why my own Mum didn't sleep until she heard me come home!

Looking for someone that could give a block of lessons possibly and based in the Bordon, Passfield, Liphook area. He attends Alton College.

Thank you nice people of Liphook :)

Been there, done that, will have to do it again and feel your pain!

Try the AA - they do block bookings at cheaper rates and we didn't have any problems with them at all. My son passed first time without any additional practice with parents.

When insurance time comes around, try Admiral Black Box - monitors their driving and awards Gold/Silver/Bronze standards so makes them continue to think. Was also much cheaper and didn't shoot up after one year.

Don't try the Black Skoda spotted this am ( Driving school - unable to get name as sped off at speed through village) towards Petersfield nearly took me out doing an illegal 360 degree turn on mini roundabout by Anchor - obviously teaches by do as I say not as I do.!

Illegal 360 degree turn. Does this mean you're not allowed to go all the way round? My brother in law used to say this was illegal and we just dismissed that as nonsense. Hmmm?

My apologies 360 degrees strictly speaking is permitted
Driving Test tips say Avoid if at all possible to make U-turns on mini roundabouts. As they are so small, this manoeuvre is highly dangerous

HIGHWAY CODE STATES Mini Roundabouts All vehicles MUST pass round the central markings except large vehicles which are physically incapable of doing so. Remember, there is less space to manoeuvre and less time to signal.AVOID making U-turns at mini-roundabouts. Beware of others doing this.

Which is why I am always cautious when approaching fortunately I obeyed my rule this morning
So my apologies for any confusion & to the Driving Instructor for my misuse of the word illegal -

I had my test in August of 2015 and used Rob Evamy of Think Driving School - couldn't recommend a better instructor, he made sure that things were progressing at a pace you were comfortable at, in later lessons allowed you to determine what you wanted to spend the time on - so you could spend time focusing on what you felt you needed most practice with. Best of all when you got things wrong he was supportive, made a joke to make light of the situation so that your confidence wasn't knocked and gave detailed pointers of what went wrong so you could avoid making that mistake again.

Passed first time, again if your still looking give rob a look.

Here's his web page so you can see his other testimonies and get in contact if you wish.
