Easter Bunnies! - Rachel (2nd Apr 2017 - 20:05:57) Hi guys, please can I ask anyone who might be thinking of buying a baby bunny for a child for Easter, to think long and hard about it first! Around 20 years ago, I ran a small mammal rescue. by the end of summer I would be inundated with unwanted rabbits and guinea pigs. In spring and summer, it's lovely to sit out in the garden with the new pets, watching them run around enjoying life. When the weather closes in and the rain lasts all day, who is going to go out to feed, water, clean out and spend time with their pet? It is a huge commitment taking on a rabbit! They can live to 15 years of age, similar to a dog! So I ask you all, please please please think long and hard about the future needs of any pet you may be thinking of buying a child (or any age) this Easter. Thank you for reading :-)
