thank you - shirley Briggs (26th Mar 2017 - 11:19:22)
Dear all.
Both Paul and myself would like to thank all of you who supported us at the Artisan Market where we held a bric a brac stall In aid of the Liphook Day Centre. We are pleased to say that we raised £108.50 which we have donated to the said Charity and for which we have be thanked profusely.
Now on to something different. I (Shirley) am on a mission to raise awareness with the Local Council about the poor state of the pavements in Liphook. I have had a councillor , Floss Mitchell, walk around Liphook with me in my wheelchair and my Husband at the helm and whilst she took several pictures of problem areas she was told by her superior that most of these problems are not down to them, surprise surprise!!
I have had an article published this week in the Liphook Herald stating some of the issues but I would like to ask all of you to let me know which problems you encounter whilst out walking. I am going to keep on fighting for pedestrians of all ages but especially the elderly who are more likely to trip than most of us.
I look forward to your comments.
Shirley Briggs

I use crutches to get about but supposed to be retreating to a wheelchair soon as I'm doing more damage to my knees but I'm just too scared too because of the state of the pavements.. and forever seeing vans and cars parked across the pavement..
I forever trip over things and it is getting dangerous, thankyou and well done for drawing attention to the issue!

I would like to thank the person who is using crutches but is soon to be in a wheelchair for responding to my message concerning the pavements in Liphook. I have E.mailed the councillor who is dealing with this matter on my behalf and wants to know exactly the problem areas to be addressed with her superior if the person who responded to my article would like to state specifically the areas of their concern then I can pass it on. Please keep informing me of your concerns.
