Ginger cat
- Alex (26th Mar 2017 - 03:58:14)

Very sorry to report that walking home late last night, I found a ginger cat that had been fatally injured on London Road, near the junction with Tower Road.

It had obviously been knocked down by a car not long before I found it, but it had already passed away so there was sadly nothing I could do, except to move it off the road to the far side of the pavement.

I do not know where the cat came from, but I send my sincere condolences to the owner / family who I'm sure will be deeply saddened.

I also found this cat- was driving down London Road ato about 4am to go to the A3 services and noticed a cat on the pavement at the side of the road, been hit by a car, between the end of Tower Road and the lay by..

I pulled over and walked back to it and unfortunately the poor thing was dead already. I've brought him/her home with the intention of taking to the vets to get scanned for a microchip (problem is its sunday so this unfortunately will have to wait til the morning). Very big, ginger cat, think it has a bit of white on its neck and paws but it being quite dark I'm not 100% sure. Really really sorry if this is your cat, wish i had gone past a bit earlier might have been able to save it, but just hopefully it will have a chip x

This is very very sad, but it's so nice to know that we still have kind and caring individuals who care about animals and people alike. x
My deepest condolences to the family of the poor ginger cat.

Update on the ginger and white cat that was found on London Road- been taken to the vets and he has a microchip so the owners will be informed today I imagine.

I don't know how anyone can hit a cat and leave it to be honest, everyone knows someone with a pet and I know if it were my pet I would want someone to care enough to stop!

If you are the owner and reading this them I am so, so sorry for your loss :( x

Hi Ellie and Alex

I have posted prior to this one, but was unsure if my message had posted on the website.

I do not normally check Liphook Talkback and although it was hard to read this post it has given me an opportunity to say Thank you to you both. I can not imagine it was a very nice thing to have to deal with but we are extremely grateful to you both. Thank you Ellie for taking Stanley to the vets. The vets had contacted us yesterday to inform us of what had happened, which both ourselves and the children are devastated.

He was our gorgeous cat, he was still very young at the age of 5. He did like to venture but would always come back home for his dinner. We live in a small cul-de-sac so he obviously decided to go further a field. We are so grateful to you both. It was a really lovely thing for you to do.

He is going to be greatly missed in our house as he was very much part of our family.

Thank you again

Jenny
