Dog Mess at Liphook Rec
- Deadly (13th Sep 2010 - 19:51:08)

Whilst I know most dog owners pick up after their dogs, it seems that there are still some keen to leave it behind for others to explore.

Apart from infrequent park users, Liphook Utd teams use the rec all weekend for games and training and much as my lads like a challenge, dodge the doggie jobbie shouldn't be one of them. Not only is it unpleasant and potentiallly harmful, we have visiting teams leaving our pitch thinking its disgusting.

I believe also that this problem is on the increase, so please can you dog owners out there be extra vigilant, bag it and bin it, and let our kids play happily.

Anyone spot someone ignoring their dog's defecation please name them and shame them, as their actions are lazy and ignorant.

Thanks everyone.

i agree it is getting much worse, i do pick up after my dogs and it makes me so cross those people that dont, it doesnt take much to pick it up. i have also noticed several piles along the paths of malthouse meadows today. Be aware i am on the lookout for these people and will report them.

I agree, it would appear that there are one or two owners who don't feel it is necessary to clear up after their dogs,I know this as I pick up even if my dog has not deposited!

There is an added problem at the moment with fox poop aswell ...... nasty to try and move as it is not formed due to the foxes eating lots of blackberries at the moment!

I agree, but it's not just the dogs. I was walking through there the other day to see a man squatting down. I bet he didn't pick up after himself.

Hopefully we'll see less of that behaviour as the evenings get colder. Good job Kevin and the 1st team didn't see him, as I think he might have been used to aim at for shooting practise!!

I see that EHDC are running an anti-poo campaign now.
