fly tipping
- ian (13th Mar 2017 - 20:41:07)
On Saturday I went to Bordon dump with an assortment of items, including a loo washbasin and some tiles all which we had replaced with new.I was told I would have to pay £2.50 for each of these items to be dumped. 2 things struck me, why are we paying council tax, and I now know why I see so much fly-tipping!

This may be why
hants.gov.uk/wasteandrecycling/...
But I wonder why we are paying council tax.
May be next time a sledgehammer, your old items and the wheelie bin may be a better outcome!
But no wonder people fly tip

Not withstanding charging for trade waste - isn't it both HCCs and the HWRC policy to actively encourage recycling as part of their overall environment policy? And as you say our council tax already funds waste collection and recycling.
According to HCC Annual Accounts (llatest published set that I could locate) the Director responsible for Enviroment costs £157,933 per annum including pension contributions. Or 63,172 paid visits to HWRC Bordon to fund salary plus on-costs.
